What are the disadvantages of the NDS-HF Business Administration degree program?

After completing the NDS-HF Business Administration course, you will be able to manage a department, lead a team or take on a line function. The fields of activity are in accounting, human resources, marketing, production or customer service. By using suitable methods and techniques, you will be able to manage efficiently and achieve the company's goals.

The main disadvantages of the NDS HF Business Administration degree program are:

  1. The NDS-HF Business Administration program requires a high level of professional expertise, as it is the highest level of higher professional education. It therefore requires a higher professional education qualification (professional examination, higher technical college, university of applied sciences or university) and two years of qualified professional experience. It is aimed at people who have already completed a specialist career and would now like to acquire additional general business knowledge for a management role. Commercial training is not required.
  2. At two to three semesters, the duration of study is not too long. A term paper is usually required, for which no examinations have to be taken. After that, you have to write your thesis. In addition to a full-time workload, you have to manage your time very well. This is because attendance events usually take place twice a week.
  3. Depending on the school, the NDS-HF Business Administration course costs between CHF 10,000 and CHF 15,000. In addition, the universities of applied sciences are excluded from federal subject funding. However, they are subsidized by the cantons, but this contribution is already deducted from the total price.
  4. The diploma in Business Administration NDS HF is not well known outside Switzerland and not all foreign managers working in Switzerland are familiar with the NDS HF and its significance.

NDS HF business economists take on responsible positions in the management of a small or medium-sized company or in the operational management (team management, department management) of a large company. They work in the areas of finance, human resources, corporate management, controlling, sales, planning or project management.
