Questions and answers

The legal secretary course is not a basic training course that leads to a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma), but rather a continuing education course with a certificate. Vocational training in the commercial sector is a prerequisite for this course.

A compact seminar to become a legal secretary is currently not possible. The specialist course takes place once a week in the late afternoon and extends over approximately nine attendance dates.

In addition to the goal of being able to work in a law firm, commercial experience is also a prerequisite for the legal secretary course. This means that you should have a Federal VET Diploma in Business Administration or comparable training, but not in a law office. Previous experience as a paralegal should also be limited and not exceed three years.

The legal secretary course is a continuing education, further training course lasting approximately three months.

The legal secretary course provides basic and advanced knowledge for future employment in a law firm. Therefore, professional experience as a paralegal or similar is not necessary, on the contrary. Course participants should have no more than three years' experience in this specialist area.
