Continuing education, further training to become a car salesperson (automobile sales consultant with Federal Diploma of Higher Education) is a part-time course that enables you to continue your professional activity, albeit on a reduced basis. Depending on the module, day, week or evening courses are offered.

In order to be admitted to the professional examination (BP) for automotive sales advisors, you need to complete eight modules during the course of your training. To do this, you attend the relevant courses and take an examination after each module, which is confirmed with a certificate if you pass. As soon as you have completed all eight modules, you can register for the next professional examination to become a car salesperson. The individual certificates are valid for three years. You must sit the BP within this period, otherwise they will expire.

Further training as a car salesperson can be completed as a professional examination, which, if passed, leads to the title "Automobile sales consultant with federal certificate" and is thus recognized throughout Switzerland.

Without experience in the automotive industry, no candidate will be admitted to the Federal Professional Examination (FPE).Automobile sales consultant. If you have a basic education or an equivalent qualification, you must be able to demonstrate at least two years of experience in automobile sales within Switzerland for continuing education, further training as a car salesperson, at least seven years, four of which must be in Switzerland if you do not have an apprenticeship qualification.

The course to prepare for the Federal Professional Examination to become a prospective car salesperson takes place over the course of two semesters, i.e. one year.
