Target group

These EMBA courses are aimed at people in management positions who want to develop, update and expand their management knowledge.

It is also aimed at people with a university degree in another field who would like to acquire the basic business knowledge for a position with management and leadership responsibilities.

Admission requirements for the EMBA program "Executive Master of Business Administration FH"

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university and several years of professional experience in a management position

Or

• Degree from a higher technical college for business and several years of qualified professional and management experience

Or

• With highly qualified professional and management experience, admission "sur-dossier" is also possible without a university degree

Costs and financing of further training

The costs at recognized universities of applied sciences are approximately

• CHF 26,500 to 38,000 for course fees, teaching materials, certificates of achievement and supervision of the Master's thesis
• The costs for any stays abroad and study trips are added to this

Course duration, number of lessons and learning effort

EMBA programs often have a modular structure and last 1 to 2.5 years. A total of around 60 attendance days must be completed, while the remaining coursework - such as participation in working groups, business cases, term papers and the Master's thesis - can be planned individually. The total time required is just over 1,000 working hours. Calculated over two years, this corresponds to an average workload of 12 to 15 hours per week.

Degree, diploma and title

How do I graduate?

The EMBA diploma certificate is awarded when all modules have been completed and passed with the proof of competence and the Master's thesis including examination has been passed.

Project work may be required for proof of competence. As a rule, proof of competence concludes with a written examination.

General factors for successfully completing further training that may also be helpful for you:

• Interest in the topic and active participation in class
• Regular preparation and follow-up of the lesson material at home
• Committed cooperation in group work, case studies etc.
• Participation in learning groups for regular exchange
• Practise exam situations by working on previous exam tasks

Diploma and title:

Those who successfully complete the final examination receive a certificate from a federal university of applied sciences and are entitled to use the following title;

• Executive Master of Business Administration FH (60 ECTS credits)
• Often as a double degree, also Master of Advanced Studies in Business Administration FH (60 ECTS credits)
