Questions and answers
Is it true that I have to continue my training in craniosacral therapy on a regular basis?
Practicing cranio-sacral therapists who are members of Cranio Suisse are obliged to attend regular further training courses in order to maintain their high standard of qualification. At least 40 hours of further training are required per training period, which covers two calendar years. These can be selected from a range of courses on offer and are divided into specialist courses and elective courses. Please contact the schools directly for more detailed information on the training regulations.
Do I receive health insurance recognition after each training course in Cranio-Sacral?
Only if your training in craniosacral therapy meets all the requirements of the EMR (ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register) can you be registered with this method and thus have your services billed via the supplementary insurance policies of many health insurance companies. For craniosacral therapy, this means that you need at least 200 hours of methodological training and at least 150 hours of basic medical training. However, all craniosacral therapy schools will provide you with information on the exact minimum requirements for health insurance recognition and will inform you which of their courses and training programs meet these criteria.
Do I already need to have basic medical knowledge before a cranio-sacral training course?
It is not necessary for you to have basic medical training before starting training in craniosacral therapy; you can also complete this directly with the respective school during your continuing education, further training. However, it makes sense to start acquiring medical knowledge as early as possible. Please clarify this directly with the schools for craniosacral therapy.
I would like to open a naturopathic practice soon and include cranio-sacral therapy in my services. How quickly can I be trained in this method?
Professional training in craniosacral therapy cannot be completed within two or three months; you need to take a little more time for this. A solid professional training in craniosacral therapy is expected to take around three years.
Is there a federal training course in craniosacral therapy?
The first craniosacral preparatory courses for the new Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE), which awards graduates a federal diploma as a complementary therapist in the craniosacral therapy method, have been running since 2015.
