The first preparatory courses for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for complementary therapists using the craniosacral therapy method have been running since November 2015 and will be held for the first time in 2016.

Previous medical training in the field of healthcare and basic medical knowledge are an advantage for continuing education, further training in craniosacral medicine, but are not a prerequisite. You also have time to acquire this knowledge during the training.

If you are already practicing as a craniosacral therapist of the Cranio Suisse (CP), you must attend continuing education, further training every two years, but even for therapists without CP membership, continuing education is an important prerequisite for a professional career. For this reason, interesting continuing education courses in craniosacral therapy are regularly offered, which can vary in duration from one day to six months and beyond.

Admission to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for complementary therapists using the craniosacral therapy method (craniosacral therapy) requires at least a secondary school leaving certificate and the industry certificate. In addition, at least two years of professional experience and at least 36 hours of supervision in the field of complementary therapy with a workload of at least 50 percent at the time of registration for the AFPE (3 years with a workload of at least 30 percent) are expected.

To be able to work as a craniosacral therapist, you need extensive training, which you cannot acquire in the form of basic training (apprenticeship). Training in craniosacral therapy is a part-time continuing education, further training.
