No prior knowledge is required for introductory courses in bookbinding technology, but for more advanced courses such as continuation or advanced courses, of course, as these build on the knowledge of the basic course.

The duration of a bookbinding course can be between two days and six months, depending on the chosen intensity, previous knowledge and focus.

Manual printing and bookbinding techniques fall under the same subject area, but this does not necessarily mean that you will also learn printing techniques on a bookbinding course. Schools often offer different courses in this area, such as screen printing, lithography, copperplate printing or bookbinding.
