What costs can be expected for training as a specialist fitter?
The costs for the Fachmonteur / Fachmonteurin course can vary from school to school, but at HWS they amount to CHF 4,650 for 2018. However, these costs are extremely generously supported by VSSM / MAEK and ZPK (up to CHF 3,500). You will receive more detailed information directly from the school.
What do specialist fitters learn during the course?
Participants in continuing education, further training to become a specialist fitter deal with topics such as preparing and implementing assembly work, managing assembly work, preparing the execution of orders and making and implementing decisions. You will also be taught skills that will enable you to competently manage apprentices and employees, communicate effectively, analyze a wide variety of situations and solve potential problems or conflicts.
How extensive is the training to become a specialist fitter?
The course to become a specialist fitter comprises a total of 200 lessons, which are spread over around six months. There are also hours for self-study, exam preparation and the final exam itself.
What exactly does a specialist fitter do?
A specialist fitter accepts installation orders from the project management and is responsible for their professional execution. He/she is responsible for the organization of assembly logistics, carries out complex monthly orders economically or monitors their execution.
What qualification do participants in continuing education, further training as a specialist fitter obtain?
After completing the training, participants receive the "VSSM Specialist Fitter" or "VSSM Specialist Fitter" diploma from the Association of Swiss Master Joiners and Furniture Manufacturers.
Who can start the specialist fitter continuing education, further training?
Carpenters Federal VET Diploma and carpenters Federal VET Diploma who have at least one year of professional experience as a fitter, as well as carpentry trainees Federal VET Diploma and woodworkers Federal VET Diploma with five years of professional experience, three of which as a fitter, are admitted to the specialist fitter training course. Fitters who have not completed an apprenticeship but have ten years of professional experience, half of which as a fitter, can also take part in the training.
