Tipps und Entscheidungshilfen für die Ausbildungswahl

Building envelope planners implement complex building envelopes or parts thereof according to the wishes and ideas of the customer. This includes building components such as exterior walls and façades, doors, windows and even roofs - in short, everything that is visible from the outside. The specialists always focus on the transitions between the individual components. They work closely with architects, clients and site managers and are on hand to advise them as experts throughout the planning and implementation process.

Of course, the focus is on the customer's ideas and wishes, but there are also situations where building envelope planners have to take into account factors such as technical requirements for the material, insulation, soundproofing or airtightness. In this case, they look for a solution that is both optimal for the customer and at the same time meets all requirements. They also find the best possible solutions by collecting data with thermal imaging cameras and exploratory openings. They draw up sketches and plans and are responsible for calculating costs and scheduling, they coordinate construction orders with specialists and construction companies and are therefore the linchpin in the realization of renovations and (re)constructions of building envelopes. They issue orders to project participants, explain individual steps and monitor the entire process. During implementation, they are also responsible for occupational health and safety. They document the entire process, are responsible for the special use of large machines, and accept and commission completed orders. Building envelope planners also come into play when architects show them existing plans. They then advise on the building envelope and make any necessary optimizations.

Have you completed higher vocational training (federal certificate) in building envelopes, timber construction, plumbing, plastering or a related field and would you like to specialize further in this area and take on more responsibility? Have you completed a course of study at a higher technical college in a related field? Have you completed basic training as a draughtsman or draughtswoman and then continued your education and gained practical experience? If so, the advanced training course as a building envelope planner is exactly right for you and is definitely a good choice. It concludes with the higher professional examination and is federally recognized.
