What topics are covered in dog trainer training?
During the dog trainer training course, all those who want to become dog trainers attend the required 19 modules. The following topics are covered, among others: Developmental phases of the dog, character tests and analysis, pedagogy in dogs, intra- and intercommunicative communication of the dog, domestication, specialization of dog breeds, diagnosis of behavioural problems, rhetoric, didactics, sociology of the Canis Familiaris, methodical therapy of relationship and behavioural problems in the human-dog relationship, anatomy, physiology, neurobiology, organizational structure, marketing, raising puppies - family dogs, animal welfare, animal law, nutrition and various forms of training.
How long does it take to become a dog trainer?
The dog training courses are held over a period of around eight months and take place as three-day blocks - from Fridays to Sundays. Please note that the Friday course does not start until 5 p.m., so that you "lose" little or no working time.
How much does it cost to become a dog trainer?
The cost of training to become a dog trainer is CHF 7,250 for all 19 modules or CHF 450 for individual modules. In addition, there are costs of CHF 600 for the examination and optional diploma thesis.
Can I become a dog trainer with this training and open my own dog school?
After such extensive training, graduates are able to become dog trainers and open their own dog school.
What continuing education, further training for dog trainers is still on offer?
Various continuing education, further training courses are offered for dog trainers, some of which require passing the HEB exam (dog training consultant). Possible courses are for example: NHB National Dog Owner Brevet for Trainers, Animal Care Officer FBA (specialist, profession-independent training for care staff in animal shelters with a maximum of 19 care places, Natural Dogmanship® - Instructor as well as other HEB continuing education, further training courses on a wide range of topics.
What qualification do graduates who want to become dog trainers obtain?
People who want to become dog trainers obtain the qualification of certified dog training consultant after completing their training at the Triple-S training center.
