The Swiss IT certificate provides know-how on all aspects of communication and presentation, texts and tables, Office, cloud computing, new media apps and their use and risks. This diploma is particularly suitable for all those who want to obtain or distribute information using groupware, for example in group work or projects, whether at school, during training, at university, at work or in their free time, for example in clubs or interest groups.

You can prepare for the ICT Smart-User SIZ exam at various schools throughout Switzerland, about which you can find extensive information here on Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch. During the course, participants also take part in test examinations on information and communication technology, which allow them to familiarize themselves with the structure and style of the individual module examinations and thus optimally prepare them for the actual diploma examination. This comprises three module examinations and must be completed as an online examination.

The SIZ IT User course is suitable for people who already have basic knowledge of Windows and the Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The SIZ diploma is ideal for apprentices or high school graduates in the areas of KV, WMS or HMS who want to improve their chances on the job market and acquire the necessary ICT knowledge for subsequent training. When preparing for the ICT Smart User SIZ diploma exam, you have the option of preparing for it independently or with the help of a special course. The SIZ user learns the following:

  • Basic education - User 1
    • Setting up a workstation, dealing with the Internet and electronic mail, security and file organization.
    • The preparation of information into an effective presentation and the design of the same.
    • Basics of document design for the purpose of creating written work and simple calculations using spreadsheets.
  • Advanced - User 2
    • Setting up a workstation, dealing with the Internet and electronic mail, security and file organization.
    • The preparation of information into an effective presentation and the design of the same.
    • Document design and handling of texts for the purpose of creating project work, theses and correspondence.
    • Calculations using spreadsheets and dealing with data in the private and grammar school environment.

The duration of the course for the ICT Smart User SIZ exam can vary depending on the chosen school and training model. At least 40 lessons are usually taught, with some providers even providing almost 90 lessons for the training. The duration of the course can also vary greatly, from around two months to just under half a year.

The SIZ user course is suitable for newcomers to IT. You can acquire a good basic user training in computer science. You will learn how to use the PC as a work tool. You learn:

  • Setting up a workstation, using the Internet and e-mail, security and file organization.
  • prepare and design information for an effective presentation.
  • Basics of document design for the creation of written work and simple calculations with spreadsheet programs.

Graduates of the ICT Smart User SIZ examination have extensive skills in dealing with Office, cloud computing and new media apps.
