My name is Vanja Veselinovic. I am the course supervisor for all HF and NDS HF courses at WISS. I completed a HF degree in Tourism almost 8 years ago. I worked for a language travel company for a long time. I moved to WISS about two and a half years ago. I'm also studying for a Bachelor's degree in Business Psychology at Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences, so I'm familiar with the student side of things. The course content of the HF Computer Science Technician (since 21.10.22 called HF Computer Scientist) is very wide-ranging. The aim is to build a foundation and to specialize as a computer scientist HF:
The degree course in Computer Science HF takes 3 years, i.e. 6 semesters. The HF degree course in Computer Science Technician (now Computer Scientist) is designed in such a way that some of the teaching takes place in conjunction with various specialist areas such as Business Administration, Business Process Technician (now Process Technician) and Business Computer Science. However, there are also separate subjects specifically geared towards the student's own field of study. The degree course in Computer Science HF is completed with a diploma thesis with an oral defense and a technical discussion with two experts.
A degree course in Computer Science HF costs a total of between CHF 15,000 and CHF 16,000. This amount already includes the cantonal subsidies. The amount does not include teaching materials, which amount to a maximum of CHF 1,000 for the entire course.

This question is not easy to answer. There is not one specific profession that can be practiced with a degree in Computer Science HF. It's more about building a foundation for a career in IT. This allows you to develop internally so that you can take on more responsibility. It can also be used to take on a higher position. It is also a basis for further studies for specialization.
As a computer scientist HF, you can complete a shortened bachelor's degree in computer science or business informatics at a university of applied sciences. We also organize in-house information events for computer science technicians to show them other further training options. Other paths such as MAS or MBA are also conceivable as a computer scientist HF / computer scientist HF. This is possible in the form of CAS modules that build on each other - e.g. CAS in IT Management or IT Service Management.
