International IT Management: Managing international IT projects professionally

The Bachelor's degree course in International IT Management equips participants with all the skills they need to professionally initiate, support and implement interdisciplinary, international and intercultural IT projects in an international team. The course is taught in English and therefore conveys an international flair even during the course. The participants become professional specialists who are able to competently take on demanding and complex IT projects while constantly taking different cultural aspects into account. Especially in today's era of globalization and with numerous internationally active corporations and organizations, specialists in this field of activity can look forward to a flourishing future. Experts in international IT management are in high demand on the job market.

In general, the modern and contemporary nature of the course is highly commendable. Around a third of the course content can be freely selected from numerous different exciting modules. Students can also choose to specialize in technology or business. Students can therefore choose suitable content depending on their interests or future career direction. The focus of the course is very much on the international field of activity, which is also shown by the fact that the course includes two compulsory semesters abroad (one semester in the English-speaking world and one semester in Asia).

The Bachelor in International IT Management degree program is aimed at students with a commercial or technical basic education with a vocational baccalaureate or a vocational baccalaureate, a high school diploma or a higher vocational education. You must have at least one year of professional experience before starting the course.

Questions and answers

Persons wishing to be admitted to the Bachelor's degree program in International IT Management must speak English to at least B2 level and have a relevant school or vocational qualification. This can be a technical or commercial apprenticeship with a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate or a diploma from a College of Higher Education in computer science, economics, technology or business informatics. A Baccalaureate, a Specialized Baccalaureate (Computer Science, Business), a degree from an International School or equivalent foreign qualifications can also be considered as admission requirements, provided that at least one year of relevant professional experience can also be proven.

The Bachelor's degree program in International IT Management consists of modules on Management & Law with a total of 30 ETCS on: Business & Supply Chain Management; International Law; International Affairs Economics; International Financial Accounting; International Management Accounting; Strategic Management; Digital Strategies, Products & Services; Finance & Investments. For Intercultural Communication & General Skills (ICGS), 27 ECTS must be earned with the modules: Advanced English Diploma Course I; Mathematics in Computer Science 1; Advanced English Diploma Course II; Anglo-Saxon Culture, Politics & History; Mathematics in Computer; Applied Statistics; (Business) Ethics; Intercultural Competence & Communication; Asia Culture, Politics & History. The modules in Computer Science are very important with the following modules: Computer & Network Architecture; Programming Fundamentals; Business Software Development; Data Management; Web & Communication Technologies; Information Security; Software Engineering; Artificial Intelligence; Business Intelligence; Computer Science. In addition, there are modules for project work and the Bachelor's thesis as well as freely selectable modules during the semesters abroad.

Students on the Bachelor's degree program in International IT Management can focus on the majors "Technology" or "Business".

The Bachelor's degree in International IT Management is completed as a full-time course within three years or as a part-time course within four years.

Graduates of the International IT Management degree program with a Bachelor's degree from the UAS are sought-after specialists and can be deployed in a variety of ways. For example, at the interface in global sourcing, in an international environment in IT management, in the management of international teams and in the implementation of international projects, at foreign subsidiaries in the planning and implementation of applications and IT systems as well as in an international context in technical IT consulting.

Two semesters abroad are compulsory on the Bachelor's degree course in International IT Management, which take place in the 3rd and 6th semesters in the English-speaking world and Asia respectively.
