Do I need a specific apprenticeship qualification to train as a ventilation technology service technician?
Participants in the ventilation technology training course to become a service fitter or service technician for ventilation/air conditioning are expected to have completed an apprenticeship as a ventilation fitter, building services planner specializing in ventilation/air conditioning, building services planner specializing in refrigeration, refrigeration fitter or another professional qualification related to the air conditioning industry with several years of professional experience as a ventilation fitter. Persons with other professional qualifications or even without an apprenticeship qualification can also be admitted to the course if they have sufficient practical experience as a ventilation fitter.
How long does training in ventilation technology take?
Depending on the school and degree, training in ventilation technology lasts three days (ventilation and air conditioning hygienist), nine months (ventilation/air conditioning service technician) and one year (ventilation/air conditioning service fitter).
Does the course in ventilation technology include a specialist license for refrigerants?
Not every training course in ventilation technology includes the specialist approval for refrigerants and hygiene training B in accordance with SWKI VA104-01 / VDI 6022, so you should enquire about this detail directly with the individual training providers using our contact form.

Air conditioning technology, heating technology, electrical engineering, refrigeration technology, water technology, MSRT, connection technology, safety, hygiene guidelines VDI 6022, planning and reports as well as customer behavior are the modules to be completed in the ventilation technology / building technology training to become a ventilation / air conditioning service technician. Filter technology, hygiene training B, specialist approval for refrigerants and dealing with chemicals legislation are also part of the training to become a ventilation/air conditioning service technician.
