The MAS Software Engineering Master's degree program is a part-time continuing education, further training program that aims to enable practitioners to continue working full-time. Classroom teaching therefore takes place two evenings a week, starting at 5.15 p.m. (as at the start of the course in 2018). What is the focus of the MAS Software Engineering?
The MAS Software Engineering is divided into three certificate courses (CAS): Software Engineering Foundation, Software Engineering Intermediate and Software Engineering Advanced. The focus is on the following subject areas: Unix operating systems, programming in C++, project management, Windows operating systems, programming Java, introduction to requirements engineering, object-oriented modeling practice, basics of operating systems, working in teams, introduction to object-oriented software development, algorithms and data structures, cloud computing, communication in distributed systems, project automation, C# and .net, basics of web technologies, interaction design, database basics, object-oriented design OOD, parallel programming, Java advanced programming, functional programming, performant teams, process communication model, software engineering for mobile platforms, agile software development, quality management, Internet of Things basics, requirements engineering advanced, architecture of distributed systems, application security, software testing, legal aspects. There is also the Master's thesis.
