Training as a medical masseuse takes different lengths of time depending on the chosen form of training. Full-time training takes one to two years. Part-time training takes three to four years. Find out about the options at the training center of your choice.

Is it necessary for me to attend the course regularly to train as a medical masseuse with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education?
You can only take part in the Federal Diploma of Higher Education Federal Professional Examination for Medical Massage Therapists if you have completed the individual modules that you take at a school during your training. This requires the completion of all eight modules. As a rule, you will only receive these qualifications if you pass the proof of competence, such as module examinations or practical work, and were present for a certain percentage of the course duration, usually at least 80 percent. An occasional absence for excusable reasons, such as illness, an important occasion or a problem within the family, is therefore of course possible, but should not occur too frequently in your own interest. You will then have to work on the topics covered in the medical masseur training course on your own. Please enquire with the individual schools about compulsory attendance and the maximum permitted absences, as we are unable to provide a general answer on this point.
Training as a masseuse: Is training as a medical masseuse federally recognized?
Yes, training to become a medical masseuse with Federal Professional Examination is a federally recognized training measure that leads to a Federal Professional Certificate. It is the only masseur training program that leads to a Federal Professional Examination.
