The metal construction workshop manager training course usually takes place over four semesters and comprises between 8 and 12 hours of lessons per week. In addition, there is self-study time of between three and five hours per week, depending on the student. This is the amount of time required to prepare for the professional examination in metal construction workshop and assembly management.

Anyone who has completed the metal construction workshop manager course is admitted to the final examination as a metal construction workshop and assembly manager:

  1. holds a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a metalworker or in a related profession;
  2. has at least 3 years of metal construction experience since completing their apprenticeship (graduates of day schools recognized by the QS Commission are credited with a maximum of 1 year of schooling as metal construction experience);
  3. provides evidence of attending a course for vocational trainers;
  4. has the required module qualifications or certificates of equivalence.
