How much does it cost to train as a fashion designer?
Training to become a fashion designer CHE costs around CHF 9,250 per semester for students with civil law residence in Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein. Scholarships can be applied for from the canton of residence. Enquire directly with the provider.
What admission requirements must be met for the Fashion Designer course?
Training as a fashion designer at a College of Higher Education requires a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Vocational Education and Training) in the fields of arts and crafts, communication, graphics or mechanics. Holders of another Federal VET Diploma, a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate, a Baccalaureate, a technical secondary school certificate or an equivalent certificate who have special design skills can be admitted "sur dossier". For the part-time course (except full-time studies), a minimum of 50% employment in the specialist area is also required.
What topics does the fashion design course at the College of Higher Education cover?
Training at the College of Higher Education (CHE) in fashion design is extremely comprehensive and trains students in design as well as in technical and craft fundamentals. Form finding, digital print, work presentation, collection realization, design language, accessories, documentation, corporate design for a fashion label, collection idea, collection realization, clothing manufacture, fashion sketches, fashion drawing, fashion history, ready to wear, pattern development, illustrator, flat drawing, pattern design, material fabrics, styling, color and material concept as well as color, form and texture are just some of the topics that the fashion designers in training will deal with.
What degree do fashion designers obtain after their training?
Fashion designers who have successfully completed the CHE course are awarded the federally recognized title: graduate designer in CHE production design with a specialization in fashion design.
How long does the CHE course to become a fashion designer take?
The fashion designer course is a CHE product design course with a specialization in fashion design. This can be completed either in two years full-time or in three years part-time. Enquire at the College of Higher Education of your choice.
