As a pedicurist, you can open your own practice or work on a mobile basis in retirement and nursing homes or for Spitex organizations as well as in wellness facilities, beauty salons, hotels, etc. Mobile work requires only a small amount of start-up capital.
You also have the opportunity to join forces with other beauty providers such as hairdressers or beauticians, nail designers or manicurists. In larger beauty and wellness facilities or in large homes or hospitals, there are sometimes also opportunities for employment.
There may not be as much work as feet, but there is plenty. And if you work well, you will be able to build up a customer base, not least through word-of-mouth advertising. Satisfied customers are usually also loyal customers.
Working as a pedicurist or cosmetic pedicurist is not regulated. You can become self-employed with any school certificate. Especially in areas with a high density of pedicure services, you can set yourself apart from the competition with the quality seal of an association membership.
