Compensation & Performance Management - Performance Management

Performance management is the term used to describe the management of a company that is responsible for regulating the provision of services. This involves calculating and controlling the time required to fulfill services and the resources tied up in the process. This allows the activity performed to be evaluated (time times performance). Such calculations are carried out in order to measure, control and monitor performance and to be able to understand the different application structures and performance levels (processes, departments, teams, employees). This is the only way to continuously optimize individual levels and increase the company's performance. One of the aims of performance management is to motivate employees and promote their learning processes. The Performance Measurement System is used for this purpose, which guarantees consistent performance recording.

A relevant course of study in this area is, for example, the CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Compensation & Performance Management UAS. Compensation management includes management skills in human resources management, which is responsible for remuneration in the form of wages and salaries or other compensation. In this respect, the combination of performance and compensation management is the optimal prerequisite for managing compensation and remuneration. The aim of compensation and performance managers is to ensure fair wages in order to value employees, competitive salaries to attract competent employees, remuneration systems that increase employee motivation, special recognition for special achievements and wages that are appropriate according to the company's results.

Questions and answers

The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) Performance and Compensation Management comprises 14 days of instruction spread over 4 months. The workload of the course is around 300 hours, whereby the learning effort of each student is of course individual.

The CAS in Performance Management is aimed at university graduates with several years of professional experience in HR as well as professionals without a university degree who can offer several years of relevant practical experience and continuing education, further training, such as a certificate from a College of Higher Education, a Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) or a Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE).

The certificate course aims to provide participants with the skills required to align performance and compensation management explicitly with the corporate strategy and, building on this, to create concepts that ensure the implementation of the strategy and its effectiveness. To this end, course participants also acquire the knowledge required to determine and utilize the performance driver-impact relationships.

The course in performance management is aimed at line managers and members of management, compensation managers, HR specialists responsible for performance management and HR managers.

The continuing education, further training in Performance Management with Certificate of Advanced Studies is awarded 12 ECTS credits.

The Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS in Performance and Compensation Management is divided into two modules, each of which deals with a specific focus. Module 1 deals with classic concepts, balanced value cards, strategic embedding, organizational management logic, strategy maps, framework design, process-oriented approaches and the role of HR in performance management. In module two, which deals with total compensation management, the topics of employee benefits, legal framework conditions and influencing factors, base pay, external pay equity, summative and anal. Classification procedures, variable executive compensation and the development of performance and compensation management.
