Tipps und Entscheidungshilfen für die Ausbildungswahl

In the field of complementary therapy, rhythmic massage is a holistic massage therapy based on anthroposophical anthropology. It was developed at the beginning of the 20th century by the doctor Ita Wegmann and Rudolf Steiner as an independent form of therapy by further developing the Swedish massage with its five grip qualities of kneading, rolling, stroking, tapping and circling in accordance with the anthroposophical understanding of the human being. This massage therapy is characterized by its rhythmic design. The typical strokes and suction grips bind and loosen the tissue, stimulate the metabolism, distribute heat throughout the body and have a positive influence on breathing and the pulse. Tension is released and blood circulation is stimulated. Each massage is followed by a period of rest, during which the stimulation from the massage is combined with the emotional state. The aim of rhythmic massage is to support and promote self-regulation, strengthen the body's healing powers and bring the body back into balance and into relationship with each other.

Rhythmic massage training is federally recognized and qualifies students to work independently as a therapist. It lasts three years and also includes the Tronc Commun - a course that is a prerequisite if you wish to take the higher professional examination afterwards. The Tronc Commun teaches professional, medical and social science fundamentals. The Rhythmic Massage training is recognized by the OdaKT (Organization of Complementary Therapy Work) and thus enables access to the higher professional examination as a complementary therapist specializing in rhythmic massage. In addition to the KT industry certificate, the HFP also requires an upper secondary level qualification, professional experience in complementary therapy and proof of supervision attended.

Questions and answers

Rhythmic massage strengthens the body's own rhythms. For example, the quality of sleep can be improved, blood pressure regulated and the metabolism brought into balance.
