Pfäffikon SZ is located on the left bank of Lake Zurich opposite Rapperswil-Jona in the canton of Schwyz. The two towns are connected by the man-made lake dam that separates Lake Zurich and the Obersee. The wooden bridge, which runs from Rapperswil to Hurden, is part of an attractive hiking trail that leads to Pfäffikon SZ. The small town lies at 416 meters above sea level and, together with Wilen SZ, Freienbach, Bäch SZ and Hurden, belongs to the municipality of Freienbach. Pfäffikon SZ is considered the center of the Ausserschwyz region.
