The Weiterbildungszentrum Lenzburg (wbz) is a professional course and training provider in the fields of automotive engineering, facility management and maintenance, caretaking, woodworking (carpenters, joiners), hotel housekeeping, maintenance, mechanical engineering/automation, metal construction, solar technology and plant services. The Lenzburg Training Center (wbz), which is certified in accordance with ISO 21001:2018, is part of the Lenzburg Vocational School (BSL).
Around 1,300 adults attend our courses every year.

Questions and answers

The continuing education, further training to become a solar technician is divided into seven modules, which are all attended and completed individually. These are: Basic Electrical Engineering with 30 lessons, Basic Thermal Engineering with 30 lessons, Roof, Wall and Occupational Safety with 40 lessons, Energy - Environment - Market with 20 lessons, Specialist Modules Photovoltaics, Solar Thermal and Heat Pump with 45 lessons each. Detailed information on the content of the respective modules can be obtained directly from the relevant schools.
The solar technician course is a certificate course which allows you to use the European protected title after passing the examinations. Continuing education, further training to become a solar installation project manager, on the other hand, is a federally recognized Federal Professional Examination (FPE), which you complete after the continuing education, further training in order to obtain the federally recognized specialist certificate. If you have successfully completed continuing education as a solar technician and are interested in being trained as a project manager, you have the option of acquiring the prerequisites you need for the Federal Professional Examination (FPE) with only two additional modules, namely Project Management Basics and Solar Installation Project Management, while the remaining modules are fully recognized.
If you have completed your training in an area relevant to the solar technician course within the last two years, you may be exempted from the relevant modules. For you as an electrician Federal VET Diploma, this could mean that you do not have to attend the module "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering", provided that you graduated no more than two years ago at the start of the course. However, this should always be discussed individually and personally with the school.
Continuing education, further training as a solar technician requires a completed apprenticeship of 3 or 4 years, which you have completed with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training. This qualification can be as an electrician, heating engineer or plumber, as a roofer or tinsmith, as well as other professions in the metal, machine, wood, construction or electrical industries. If you have an apprenticeship qualification in another field, please discuss this directly with the school where you would like to complete your continuing education, further training.
Professional experience in the field of renewable energies is not mandatory for continuing education, further training as a solar technician.
