Calculation in detail

Continuing education, further training social insurance specialist FPE:

  • 18 months, part-time
  • School fees, documents: CHF 10,500 minus CHF 5,250 federal contribution = CHF 5,250
  • Examination fee: CHF 2,000
  • Total training costs: CHF 7'250

Wage difference and yield calculation:

  • Difference in salary between the position of Federal VET Diploma insurance clerk and the position of social insurance specialist: CHF 5,003 - CHF 4,266 = CHF 737 per month and CHF 8,844 per year (12 x CHF 737 = CHF 8,844)

  • Over the remaining 40 years until their retirement (25 to 65), this additional income will add up to CHF 353,760 (40 x CHF 8,844 = CHF 353,760)
  • If the training costs are deducted from this additional income, an additional sum of around CHF 347,000 remains at her disposal(CHF 353'760 - CHF 7'250 = CHF 346'510)
