Ich möchte meine Weiterbildung zum Spenglermeister machen, habe aber Italienisch als Muttersprache und traue mir nicht zu, die Diplomarbeit in Deutsch zu schreiben. Gibt es da eine Lösung?

Die Diplomarbeit, die Fallstudie sowie die mündliche Prüfung zum Spenglermeister mit eidg. Diplom müssen nicht zwingend in deutscher Sprache erfolgen. Sie haben auch die Möglichkeit, diese in Französisch oder in Italienisch abzulegen. Dies sollten Sie allerdings im Vorfeld bei der Anmeldung zur Abschlussprüfung vermerken.

Muss ich für die Höhere Fachprüfung zum Spenglermeister unbedingt eine Schule besuchen?

Vorausgesetzt, Sie verfügen nicht bereits über mehrere Weiterbildungsabschlüsse, bei denen Sie die für die Höhere Fachprüfung zum Spenglemeister mit eidg. Diplom erforderlichen Modulabschlüsse bereits bestanden haben, ist der Besuch einer Schule und der Abschluss der einzelnen Module unumgänglich. Sollten Sie bereits Modulabschlüsse vorweisen können, die identisch mit den Anforderungen an die Module sind, so können Sie eine Gleichwertigkeitsbescheinigung beantragen und müssen dieses Modul nicht besuchen und abschliessen. Da dies jedoch eine sehr individuelle Abklärung ist, nehmen Sie bitte direkt mit der entsprechenden Berufsschule oder dem Bildungszentrum Kontakt auf.

Wie ist die Diplomarbeit zum Spenglermeister aufgebaut?

Für die Diplomarbeit zum/zur Spenglermeister/in mit eidg. Diplom bearbeiten Sie eine Aufgabenstellung, die von der QS-Kommission vorgegeben wird, selbständig und in Heimarbeit. Sie haben bis zu vier Wochen Zeit, daraus eine Abschlussarbeit zu machen, die im Normalfall 15 bis 20 Stunden Zeit in Anspruch nimmt. Während der Ausbildung lernen Sie alles Erforderliche über die Unternehmensführung, die Administration, Kundenbetreuung und Kundenaquise. Sie befassen sich mit den Aufgaben der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und denen eines erfolgreichen Marketings, mit der Einsatzplanung von Mitarbeitern und der Materialplanung und -bestellung. Zudem kennen Sie sich mit der Arbeitssicherheit und den anzuwendenden Normen und Vorschriften aus, mit Kostenvoranschlägen, Budgetplanung und Nachkalkulationen, dem Rechnungswesen, Finanzwesen, Versicherungswesen und Steuerwesen. Auch Verhandlungsführung und Personalführung fällt in Ihr Zuständigkeitsgebiet als Spengler-Meister. All diese Kompetenzen und Ihre Erfahrung als Spenglerpolier sind ausreichend, um den Schritt hin zu einer Selbständigkeit als Spenglermeister zu wagen und einen eigenen Spenglerbetrieb zu übernehmen oder aufzubauen.

Are you a passionate tinsmith with a federal certificate or have you completed equivalent training? Do you also have four years of professional experience? If so, we recommend that you train to become a master tinsmith (Higher Professional Examination HFP) so that you can cover more areas of professional competence and also work as a manager. This training will enable you to run your own business or take on a management position in a larger company. Take the next step in your career and take on the challenge.

Representing the company to the outside world is one of the many important tasks of a master tinsmith. You will be responsible for looking after existing customers and acquiring new ones. You negotiate with suppliers and are the contact person when clients have questions or other concerns. You will also manage staff and monitor their work when visiting construction sites. You will organize work orders from start to finish and ensure that everything runs smoothly. During your training as a master tinsmith, you will be prepared for all these tasks and many more. To this end, you will be taught the following content during your in-service training, which lasts at least three semesters, i.e. one and a half years:

I would like to do my continuing education, further training as a master tinsmith, but I am an Italian native speaker and I don't have the confidence to write my thesis in German. Is there a solution?

The diploma thesis, the case study and the oral examination to become a master tinsmith with a federal diploma do not necessarily have to be in German. You also have the option of taking them in French or Italian. However, you should make a note of this in advance when registering for the final examination.

Do I have to attend a school to take the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) to become a master tinsmith?

Provided you do not already have several further education qualifications in which you have already passed the module qualifications required for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE), it is essential that you attend a school and complete the individual modules. If you already have module qualifications that are identical to the requirements for the modules, you can apply for a certificate of equivalence and do not have to attend and complete this module. However, as this is a very individual clarification, please contact the relevant vocational school or training center directly.

How is the master tinsmith diploma thesis structured?

For the diploma thesis to become a master tinsmith with a federal diploma, you will work independently and at home on a task set by the QA committee. You have up to four weeks to turn this into a thesis, which normally takes 15 to 20 hours to complete. After continuing education, further training as a master tinsmith with a federal diploma, you will be ideally prepared for self-employment and have the know-how to run a company. During your training, you will learn everything you need to know about business management, administration, customer care and customer acquisition. You will deal with the tasks of public relations and successful marketing, employee scheduling and material planning and ordering. You will also be familiar with occupational safety and the applicable standards and regulations, cost estimates, budget planning and post-calculations, accounting, finance, insurance and taxation. Negotiations and personnel management also fall within your area of responsibility as a master tinsmith. All these skills and your experience as a tinsmith foreman are sufficient for you to take the step towards self-employment as a master tinsmith and take over or set up your own tinsmith business.
