I would like to attend a language school in Spain, how do I choose the right one?
There are many language schools in Spain. Choosing the right one for you is therefore not always easy. A few simple tips will help you choose the right offer so that your language study trip to Spain will be an unforgettable experience. To begin your search, you should first decide on a city where you would like to attend a Spanish language course, be it Barcelona, Madrid or Granada, Ibiza, Salamanca, Seville or Valencia. Think about what you expect from your language course and what the city should offer you. Would you like to be as close to the sea as possible or would you prefer to be inland? Would you like to go to a big city or do you prefer a quiet and tranquil area? Once you have decided on a Spanish city, you should now ask the language school providers for suitable language schools. Which language diplomas can I prepare for at a Spanish language school?
The DELE language diplomas in particular, Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera, are extremely popular and are therefore offered by a large number of language schools throughout Spain. These are available for levels A1 to C2. It is also often possible to take telc exams, but at far fewer language schools. During a language study trip to Spain, you can also prepare for and take language exams that can help you in your career. These are

What exactly are special courses?
Most language schools offer a selection of language courses from which you can choose the one that suits you best. These are mostly standard courses and intensive courses, but diploma courses and special courses are also offered. Specialized courses can have very different contents, which each Spanish school determines itself. When looking for a suitable offer for your language study trip to Spain, you may therefore come across course models that include additional courses alongside Spanish courses. This could be Spanish and flamenco, for example, but also a language course combined with salsa, surfing, cooking or culture. In most cases, you will have language lessons in the morning and the additional course in the afternoon, usually for about an hour. However, special courses often also include different course models, such as group lessons combined with individual lessons. Business courses for business Spanish also often fall into this category. Are there also language courses for families?
Some, albeit few, language schools in Spain offer so-called family language trips that cater to the needs of all family members and support them individually. In most cases, you will stay in a private apartment and attend a language course for adults at your language level at the same time as your children. If you also have younger children who cannot or should not yet take part in a Spanish course, it is often possible to leave them with a professional babysitter during the language course. This gives you the time and peace of mind to improve your Spanish skills while your children, both big and small, are well looked after. In the afternoons during your language study trip in Spain, you can take part in leisure activities organized by the school, such as excursions and sightseeing tours, or explore the city and surrounding area on your own. A wide range of activities are offered for young people during this time, so that they can also make contact with their peers from different countries outside of the Spanish course and put their acquired knowledge into practice. The weekend belongs to the family, when there are no lessons and often no organized programme on language trips to Spain.
What accommodation options are available for language trips?
Not only the right language course is important for a language study trip to Spain, but the accommodation is also a decisive criterion for feeling comfortable. That's why most language schools don't just offer one type of accommodation, but a range of accommodation from which you can choose the most attractive one for you. At almost all Spanish schools, you can stay with a host family during your language study trip. These should be chosen carefully and suit your expectations. Therefore, always talk to the provider about your wishes, for example if you do not want children in the household, if you follow a strict diet, have an allergy to animal hair, absolutely want a non-smoking or smoking household, only want to live with a retired couple or similar. Not all your wishes can always be fulfilled, but every effort will be made to make your language study trip to Spain as pleasant as possible. In most cases, you can also choose whether you want to live with another language student in the same family, in a room with them or alone in a single room with the family.

Unlike with a host family, however, in this case you are responsible for your own accommodation and either live in a room with other students or share a kitchen, bathroom and living room with them.
