Life coaching is about personality development. This is why the Life Balance Coach training covers topics such as self-worth, self-confidence, happiness, time management and conflicts of values. While life coaching focuses on the journey to oneself, business coaching is more about professional development. The focus is therefore on professional orientation and career development as well as defining and achieving professional goals.

After training as a stress or balance coach, it is perfectly possible for you to become self-employed. However, in such a case you should have comprehensive training and continuing education, further training as an anti-stress coach, stress regulation trainer or other specialist in stress prevention or stress reduction. Experience in dealing with patients should also not be underestimated, so it often makes sense to first gain practical experience as an employee for some time and only then become self-employed. Please also bear in mind that courses that are recognized by the EMR, the Empirical Medicine Register, are usually also paid for as a method by supplementary health insurance companies, which in turn should mean more patients for you. So please inform yourself comprehensively about the possibilities of continuing education, further training in (work-life) balance coaching.
In most cases, there are no admission requirements for Balance Coach courses. Nevertheless, you are naturally expected to have a great deal of empathy and appreciation for others, an interest in new things, learning and practicing, and a belief in holistic treatment that sees body and mind as interwoven.

As a Life Balance Coach you need the following personal qualities:

  • Experience in working with people.
  • Willingness to engage in a personal process
  • First experience in accompanying people in a structured process
  • Conduct your own mental coaching and training sessions - during the training at the latest

The Balance Coach training is actually a specific continuing education, further training. This means that you also need a normal coach course as basic training in order to know how to work properly as a coach and how to act in coaching conversations. This basic knowledge is then supplemented with additional knowledge about personal development and work-life balance.

A stress or balance coach supports his patients/clients in very different ways and with different methods in their change process towards a more stress-free and relaxed life. This can be work-life balance, life balance, stress and balance or another term, which aims to recognize resources and causes of stress and release new energy, set priorities, learn relaxation techniques and solve blockages and problems that make a balanced and satisfying life difficult.

One of the most important elements of coaching training is the development of one's own personality. A coach has to be in life themselves in order to be able to help others. He or she must be able to answer questions. Without these skills, there is no basis for empathetic and professional work as a trained coach.

Training to become a balance coach is not federally regulated, so the schools decide for themselves which seminars and courses they offer in the areas of work-life balance, stress regulation, mental training and similar areas. Which course you attend depends entirely on what goals you are pursuing and what you want to focus on. You can attend seminars lasting several days or complete a full training course, which can last several months and often consist of several courses that can also be attended individually. You therefore decide for yourself which skills you want and need to acquire in order to carry out comprehensive balance coaching.
