Are you interested in such a position in the tourism industry? Then you won't be able to avoid training or further education to become a tourism specialist. At www.ausbildung-weiterbildung.ch you can get a quick overview of schools throughout Switzerland. Compare the various courses, training programs, seminars and training courses and find the right solution for you.

Questions and answers

In order to be able to start your studies at the CHE to become a tourism specialist, it is essential that you have at least one year of professional experience after completing your apprenticeship or another upper-secondary level qualification. Language stays, internships or other productive employment within this one year are also possible.

If you study full-time, it is not possible for you to continue working, as the time commitment would be too high. However, some schools also allow you to study part-time to become a tourism specialist, so that you can continue to work within a limited framework. However, you can also opt for a different course option where, provided you choose a College of Higher Education that is located in the tourism region, you only attend school in the off-season and work in tourism during the peak season.

For most Colleges of Higher Education, it is important that you have very good language skills in at least one foreign language. These foreign languages should be English, French, Spanish, Italian or, for foreign speakers, German. In the course of their training, tourism specialists also acquire good language skills in another language, so that they graduate with language diplomas in two foreign languages.

Yes, it is possible for you to complete the CHE Tourism Specialist course as a full-time student. In this case, however, this includes a one-year internship during the course to provide you with practical skills as well as theoretical knowledge.
