A three-year course of study at a university of applied sciences leads to the degree "Dipl. Versicherungswirtschafter HF / dipl. Versicherungswirtschafterin HF". Versicherungswirtschafter HF / Versicherungswirtschafterin HF - the specialist and management training course in the insurance industry

The advanced training course as an insurance economist HF is aimed at business people who have completed basic training in the commercial sector - ideally within the insurance industry - and have relevant professional experience in the insurance industry. Comprehensive basic knowledge of the insurance industry is expected. During the further training, at least 50 percent of the time must be spent working in an insurance company. However, students can remain in employment for up to 100% of the three-year course.

The focus of the course is on the following topics:

Questions and answers

In order to be admitted to the CHE degree program in Insurance Management. Insurance Economist CHE, persons wishing to be admitted without an examination must either have a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Insurance E-Profile or E-Profile with Federal Vocational Baccalaureate, or a VET in another sector with at least one year's professional experience in the insurance industry and proof of the written broker examination, or a Federal Professional Examination (FPE) as an insurance specialist, social insurance specialist, financial planner or health insurance specialist. Persons without one of these qualifications must pass an entrance examination and have between one and two years of qualified professional experience in the insurance sector, depending on their previous education. In addition, all prospective students must provide proof of at least 50 percent professional experience during their studies.

3 to 4 semesters are required for continuing education, further training as an insurance economist CHE for holders of the insurance specialist certificate. Without the federal certificate, the course lasts 6 semesters.

Graduates in insurance economics CHE are usually employed in management positions at insurance companies and specialize in one of the business areas, such as service management, risk management, support, claims management, product management or sales.

The CHE course consists of "Business Administration" with subjects such as economics, business administration, accounting, communication, project management, process management, personal management, knowledge management, personnel management, "General Industry Knowledge" with reinsurance, insurance law, insurance marketing, insurance economics, insurance technology and mathematics, as well as "Insurance Processes" with content on sales, support, account management, management processes, customer orientation, product management, risk management, claims management, service management. In addition, for people without a Federal Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance FPE, there is the subject "Specific industry knowledge", for which at least three modules can be chosen from a selection.
