The majority of those who complete the Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Financial Planning receive a salary increase of up to 20 % after graduation. This is because the Federal Professional Examination raises you to a higher salary level. This also makes the job more interesting and more responsible.

The result of the financial planner salary calculation is: CHF 8,767.

We return to "Occupational position" and select "Level 3+4: Lower management" and "Higher vocational training" for "Training". The salary increases to CHF 10,752 per month with the specialist certificate.

Hanna is 24 years old and works as a Federal VET Diploma bank clerk at a bank in Kreuzlingen. She really enjoys working in customer advisory services in banking. Hanna performs basic banking services such as account openings, payments, cards and support in digital banking. However, she is also able to provide more and more customer advice with portfolio analysis, investment recommendations, pension issues, mortgage and loan recommendations. Hanna's courteous and friendly manner and her analytical thinking skills are greatly appreciated by the bank and its customers. She would like to further expand her financial expertise and learn more about standard market investment, credit, pension and insurance instruments. Hanna would like to complete continuing education, further training as a financial planner in order to create individual financial plans for clients that take into account life events such as marriage, divorce, early retirement or real estate financing. This Federal Professional Examination will enable her to draw up long-term financial plans tailored to the needs of individuals and the self-employed. Financial benefits of continuing education, further training financial planner

As a financial planner, Hanna will receive CHF 1,584 more per month than before and will therefore have at least CHF 756,000 more at her disposal by the time she retires than if she had not done any continuing education, further training.

As this theoretical "Financial Planner (FPE)" calculation does not take into account any further salary increases, promotions or interest on savings, the salary can still increase significantly.

  • She recoups the entire training costs of CHF 4,550 in just over 2 months with her higher salary as a financial planner (CHF 4,550 / CHF 1,584 per month = 2.4 months)
  • In the remaining 40 years until their retirement (25 to 65), this additional income will add up to CHF 760,320 (40 x CHF 19,008 = CHF 760,320)
  • If the training costs are deducted from this additional income, an additional sum of around CHF 756,000 remains at her disposal(CHF 760'320 - CHF 4'550 = CHF 755'770)
