The current Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (AFPE) for Head of Hotel Housekeeping with a federal diploma used to be called "Head of Housekeeping with a federal diploma" and is the equivalent replacement for this continuing education, higher education and training.

The costs for continuing education, further training to become a hotel housekeeping manager with a federal diploma (formerly housekeeping manager with a federal diploma) can vary greatly depending on the employment relationship and canton and range from CHF 1,300 (employment contract with L-GAV in the hospitality industry) to CHF 12,120 (without L-GAV in the cantons of Aargau, Neuchâtel, Graubünden, Geneva, Vaud and Jura). The continuing education, further training in housekeeping to prepare for the Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (AFPE) "Head of Hotel Housekeeping with a Federal Diploma" is a part-time continuing education, which is carried out in blocks of eight one-week blocks spread over three semesters.

After passing the diploma, graduates receive the protected title: "Head of Hotel Housekeeping with a Federal Diploma" or "Head of Hotel Housekeeping with a Federal Diploma".
