What does a HERMES course cost?
The course costs vary slightly depending on the course provider. As a rule, a HERMES course leading to the "HERMES 5.1 Foundation" certificate costs between CHF 1,900 and CHF 2,400. It is important to note whether the examination fee for the HERMES certificate is already included. Otherwise this costs an additional CHF 450.
Other HERMES courses, such as the advanced certification ("HERMES 5.1 Advanced Certificate") cost considerably more. Here, the course costs vary between CHF 1,660 and CHF 3,400. Here too, it is important to note whether the examination fee for the HERMES certificate is included. This amounts to CHF 950.
There are also major price differences depending on the type of course. Online courses are often cheaper than face-to-face courses. Find out about your options directly from the course providers.
Who can obtain a HERMES certificate?
In principle, there are no prerequisites for completing a HERMES course. The HERMES course is particularly suitable for the following groups of people:

How is a HERMES certificate obtained?
The HERMES certification exam can be taken in two ways after the course:
- Online
When you register for the course, you will receive a link from TüV Süd to register for the examination. You can set the date yourself. The TüV will set appropriate time slots in the week following the course - Onsite
The paper-based exams can be taken at various locations on specific dates.
Immediately after completing the exam, you can see in the system whether the exam has been passed or not. The final decision on the awarding of the certificate is only made after the review. The certificate is then sent by e-mail.
The Foundation Level exam lasts 60 minutes, with 40 multiple-choice questions to be answered.
At Advanced Level, the exam lasts 2 x 60 minutes. In the 1st part, 30 theoretical multiple-choice questions are completed, in the 2nd part 15 multiple-choice questions on a practical situation.
How long does a course with HERMES certification take?
HERMES courses usually last two days for the Foundation Level and three days for the Advanced Level. This time is required for exam preparation. Ask the course providers about the duration of the courses on offer.
