As a customer service advisor in the automotive industry (AKB), you are the link between the company and your customers. You advise your workshop customers competently on all questions relating to service work and repairs to their vehicles and are responsible for both administrative and technical matters. Automotive customer service advisors arrange appointments for repairs or servicing, make diagnoses and plan orders.

For customer service advisors in the automotive industry, there is a continuing education, further training program that prepares them for the Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FPE) for the Federal Diploma of Higher Education as an automotive sales advisor.

A total of eight modules must be passed before the Federal Professional Examination for Customer Service Advisors in the Automotive Trade. These are

  • Accounting
  • Work and company organization
  • Marketing and trade
  • Law and insurance
  • Sales-related product knowledge

Graduates of the continuing education, higher education, further training in the automotive industry obtain the qualification "Automotive Sales Consultant with Federal Diploma of Higher Education".

Persons with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education in the automotive sector, a Federal Diploma of Higher Education with a corresponding technical focus or an equivalent qualification are eligible for the FPE as a customer service advisor in the automotive sector (now automotive service advisor). This requires at least three years of professional experience in the automotive sector - including at least one year in the customer service department of a company in the automotive industry.
