Graduate managers of technical customer service / service work in trading and production companies and usually manage an assembly department, a service department or technical customer service.

Persons with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma) or a comparable qualification who also have at least five years of professional experience in technical customer service, at least three years of which must be in a management position, are admitted to the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) for Technical Customer Service Managers.

The examination for the diploma in Head of Technical Customer Service comprises five parts: "Service management, corporate management, economics"; "Personnel development and personnel management"; "Company organization and law" are tested both practically and in writing and orally, "Customer relationship and product management" in writing and orally and "Work techniques and communication" in writing and practically.

After passing the higher professional examination, graduates are awarded the federal diploma "Certified Head of Technical Customer Service / Service".

The continuing education,, further training to become a qualified technical customer service manager takes place within two years of professional experience.
