Facility management managers are responsible for the management and maintenance of facilities, buildings and equipment. They also deal with the analysis and optimization of services and operating processes, effective materials management, purchasing and logistics. Facility management managers are responsible for maintaining the value of technical equipment, infrastructure and buildings, and may also be involved in the planning of conversions or modernization, for which they prepare cost calculations, obtain quotations and monitor the implementation.

A qualified Head of Facility Management is also responsible for purchasing, assessing and coordinating external service providers and services. They assume leadership responsibility and are the contact person for strategic management.
