Eastbourne / England graduated

Why did you decide to go on a language study trip?

My English is poor. As my place of work was being renovated, I had to take a break. I wanted to use this break for a language study trip. I am convinced that the best way to learn a language is in a country where the inhabitants speak English.

In which country and in which city did your language study trip take place?

I was in England, Eastbourne to be precise. I love the countryside and I really like the English spoken there. A big city was out of the question for me.

When did you complete the language study trip? How long did it last?

My language stay was supposed to last from 07.04 to 01.06.2019. Unfortunately, I had to return on 22.05.2019 because my husband had a heart attack. But in 8 weeks I got to know a lot of people and the culture.

How satisfied were you with your language study trip? What did you particularly like?

I love the people in England, the direct manner, not judgmental, just great. At school, we were addressed by name on the very first day. It makes you feel very welcome.

What did the language study trip do for you personally and for your career?

I teach at various schools. More and more children are coming to Switzerland from abroad and have English as their second language, so they are learning German very slowly. The language will also help me with swimming lessons for adults. English also helps me in my everyday life, I can benefit a lot from my language studies.

What tips would you give to anyone interested in a language study trip?

Dare to go, it was my greatest experience. It doesn't matter whether you are 20 or 45 years old.

Which language study abroad providers have you registered with?

I had the language study trip organized by Biku Langues.

How satisfied were you with this provider?

Yes, by and large yes. There was a misunderstanding with my address at the beginning, but it was cleared up later.
