Why did you decide to study French?

I decided to go on a language study trip because I wanted to learn French more intensively, gain new experiences and get to know a different culture better.

In which country and in which city did your language study trip take place?

My first language study trip was to Leysin in French-speaking Switzerland. After that, I chose individual language training in Montpellier in the south of France and in Corsica.

When did you complete the language study trip? How long did it last?

In summer 2013, I attended the Leysin language camp for a week. In spring 2014, I also spent a week's vacation in Montpellier. Because I liked it so much, I decided to spend my summer vacation in 2014 on the island of Corsica and again in Montpellier.

How satisfied were you with your language study trip? What did you particularly like?

I really enjoyed the language study trip, especially the way the language was linked to everyday life, which increased my learning success. My mother also benefited from it, as I am now a specialist in southern French cuisine.

What did the language study trip do for you personally and for your career?

I was very satisfied because the language courses were very useful. As I lived with locals, I was constantly asked to communicate in French. This taught me how to find my way in a foreign country and how to take responsibility.

What tips would you give to anyone interested in a language study trip?

You should look for a place where you can learn the language in a practical way so that you don't lose motivation. It's so much more fun to put what you've learned into practice straight away. Learning is much easier if you can concentrate on one language.

Which language study abroad providers have you registered with?

At ESL and Bonjour Jaques.

How satisfied were you with this provider?

I first registered with ESL, which was quite good. I spent my last three stays at "Individual language and learning training: Bonjour Jaques!", which was much more adventurous and exciting. Madame Jaques is an open and kind-hearted person who not only helped me with the language, but also gave me a lot of personal advice along the way. I now know tips and tricks on how to concentrate better and where I can learn better. It was a great experience!
