For many of these courses there is also the option of studying in a small group, usually with between 3-6 participants. This allows for faster and more intensive learning, you will be more involved in the lessons and will inevitably have to speak English more often, which will improve your communication skills immensely in a very short time.

 

Standard and intensive courses are identical in terms of structure and external conditions and differ mainly in the number of lessons per week. A standard course often has 20 lessons per week, an intensive course 30 lessons. This means that you can achieve the same learning goal in two weeks with an intensive course as with a standard course in three weeks, which is certainly a welcome alternative for people with little free time.

 

Individual lessons are also very effective, but can somewhat minimize personal contact with other course participants. If you enjoy learning in a group but don't want to miss out on the advantages of individual lessons, a combination course is a good choice.

 

In addition to business courses, many language schools also offer preparation courses for upcoming exams during a language study trip to London. These exams are officially recognized and are highly regarded internationally. When organizing the leisure programme, a strict distinction is made between youth language trips and adult language trips. Young people under the age of 16, sometimes even 18, are usually not able to spend their free time unsupervised outside of the language school or their host family. The leisure program is completely organized for them and supervised by the teachers. A language study trip in London aimed at adults usually does not offer as extensive a range of activities as for teenagers, but there is usually still plenty on offer. There are often weekly excursions, joint visits to pubs, museums and restaurants, film evenings and weekend trips. Courses outside of the English language course are also often on the program, although with different content and frequency depending on the school. For example, at some schools you can attend cooking classes, dance classes or painting classes in addition to the English course. Always bear in mind that not all leisure activities are included in the price and that you have to book some of them in advance.
During a language study trip to London, you have the choice between very different language courses with varying intensity and number of lessons per week. What they all have in common, however, is that they take place five days a week, from Monday to Friday, usually at least in the morning. You can usually opt for a standard or intensive language course, which, depending on the language school, has 20 to 27 lessons or 25 to 35 lessons per week. The duration of each lesson can vary between 45 and 90 minutes. Most English language schools also offer courses for business English, which are similar in scope to the intensive courses, as well as diploma courses or exam courses. For those who are mainly interested in exploring the capital of England and just want to learn a little English on the side, some English schools also offer the option of attending an English course with only 2 or 3 lessons per day, i.e. 10 or 15 lessons per week. It is best to speak to some language travel providers about the individual course types offered by the different language schools in London in order to find the right offer for you quickly and easily. After a language study trip to London, you will normally receive a certificate from the relevant language school. And this applies regardless of whether you were there for one week or six months. However, as this does not necessarily say anything about your English language skills after this stay, official language examinations are being taken more and more frequently. Such examinations officially certify your language qualifications and are valid worldwide.
Language diplomas are often required as a prerequisite for jobs abroad or even a new or higher position here in Switzerland. As people increasingly have to deal with foreign corporate clients or business partners in their jobs, many companies require their employees to have a good command of English and a certificate or diploma attesting to this.
However, many universities in English-speaking countries also require foreign students to provide proof of their language skills so that they are able to follow the lectures at all. These language exams are the Cambridge exams, which, if passed, earn you a diploma certifying your language skills according to your level.
