How is the Communication Planner final exam structured?
In the Federal Professional Examination for Communication Planners with a Federal Professional Diploma, you will be tested in four examination parts, which may have further sub-items. These examination parts are Communication planning / integrated communication; production; media; and advertising law / advertising industry. You will be examined in writing in all four parts and, with the exception of advertising law/advertising industry, you will also take an oral examination lasting 25 minutes.
Which further training course can be completed after the professional examination for communication planners with a federal certificate?
Successful graduates of the professional examination for communication planners with a federal certificate who are planning their next career step and aspire to a managerial position in the communications industry have the opportunity to attend the "Higher professional examination for communication managers with a federal diploma" course.
Is it true that I have to take the MarKom exam to qualify as a communications planner?
To register for the Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Communication Planning, you must have passed the MarKom certificate examination, which must not be older than five years. You can also find providers for the MarKom exam here on Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch. From the 2019 examination year, however, completion of the MarKom examination is no longer mandatory.
Do I need a specific apprenticeship qualification for the FPE in Communication Planning?
No, no special apprenticeship qualification is required for continuing education, further training as a communication planner with Federal Diploma of Higher Education. You can start the continuing education, further training with an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Business Administration (Federal VET Diploma Kaufmann / Kauffrau) as well as with an Federal VET Diploma in graphic design or sales, a commercial high school diploma, at least three years of secondary school diploma training, a high school diploma, an AFPE in the commercial field, a degree from a Universities or University of Applied Sciences in the commercial field or a Federal Diploma of Higher Education in PR, Marketing, Sales or Direct Marketing. In addition, you need a valid MarKom admission exam from the last five years (only mandatory until the 2018 examination year) and at least two years of professional experience in sales, marketing, direct marketing, advertising or public relations. If you do not have any of these qualifications, you can still take the Federal Professional Examination, provided you have at least three years of professional experience in the above-mentioned areas.
Can I start continuing education, further training as a communications planner straight after completing my apprenticeship?
To be admitted to the Federal Professional Examination in Communication Planning (FPE), you must have at least two years of professional experience in the fields of direct marketing, marketing, advertising, sales or public relations (PR). Depending on your educational and professional background, you may also be required to have five years of professional experience in the above-mentioned areas.
